Waiting for my plants to dry so I can water them again.

Sometimes I ask myself - if you were imprisoned in the same room for the rest of your life, wouldn‘t there still be an infinite number of things to look at, to contemplate, to draw? Any wall has tiny irregularities, any floor shows signs of wear and tear, anything can be viewed from any number of angles, from different distances, it just never stops.

Thank God I have more than one room, and what‘s more, it‘s full of extraordinarily interesting creatures. So I decided to portray them, in their pots, on a scale of 1:1.

Besides a majestic Tradescantia pallida, which unfortunately doesn‘t get much light in winter and therefore has exchanged its bright violet for a pale green, I mainly find various species of cactus.

Cacti are the perfect roommates for lazy plant lovers, but for helicopter parents they are a challenge: they need almost no water and make it very clear that they don‘t want to be petted.

For me, they have another key advantage: they are small.
